RDspaguy
Probably. Tightening it up might do the trick as well. If you do pull it out replace the shaft seal while it's out.
contact634
thought about tightening it up but screws don't seem to want to want to go tighter i could get my ratchet on it but i don't want to break anything how tight should they be? RDspaguy
Just snug plus 1/4 turn. Sometimes they can loosen from vibration, which will be obvious once you start to tighten them. If they are tight then you need a housing gasket/o-ring.
RDspaguy
Be sure to tighten housing bolts in a crisscross pattern.
contact634
tub was due for a water change hit it with ahhsome not much goo which is good drained it then pulled leaking pump/wetend I opened wet end the o ring was very hard compared to the new one o ring changed shaft seal reasmbled with new o rings on the unions filled and ran no leaks so far!!! I'm going to run it for a few hours as it needs to heat up this way I can watch for any leaks old o ring was hard but not damaged sealing surfaces on both halves of wet end were clean with no damage screws were as tight as they would go so i guess after 20 years the rubber finally shrank/dried didnt owe me anything!
