Would composite material like trex support the weight of a swim spa?

Recommended Posts

Our brand new swimming spa leaked water during its first weeks of use during winter. We are concerned for our actual structure made of wood (it's protected around the spa but not under it, the water went through the plywoods under).

We're thinking about moving the spa, removing the plywoods and replacing it with trex if it could hold the weight of the spa, 19000lbs with the water.

Under the plywoods we have 2X10 at every 12inches.

Do you think the composite material would hold that weight?

Thank you very much!

---edit : I talked with Trex support and they said that their product was good for 100lbs/square feet, with the spa beeing 17X8, it makes 13600lbs weight capacity, or is there something else to be considered in the calculation (like our base of 2X10, I know nothing about carpentry)?
