Opie
I have a heater question. I have an old hot tub not digital. My heater does not come on in circulation mode but when I kick the high speed on for the jets it works fine. I've already eliminated the possibility of it being the pressure switch because I jumpered it out with no change. I have a 6 pin plug which goes up to the front of the tub where the air switches and heat control is. One of those wires appears to energize my pressure switch. When the tub is running with the jets on the wire has 120 v but when the pump is on in low speed this wire has no voltage so obviously even if the pressure switch is closed I won't have heat. So what is this wire?
RDspaguy
An old topside with a dial thermostat and air buttons has a power in and out of the thermostat, neutral, indicator lights, and a ground. The thermostat wire will engage a relay that turns on the pump and sends power to the pressure switch, possibly the high limit, then the heater contactor coil. I am not sure how you are testing this, but what you describe must be the jet indicator light wire. Find and reset the high limit. Post pics of the control pack, wiring diagram, and equipment area.
