Hot Spot Sorrento (2004) pump noisy

Hi Guys,

Our Hot Spot Sorrento (2004) is still going but......

The pump seems very noisy, I'm sure it was not this noisy a few years ago.

Apart from replacing the pump, could it be anything else?

Define "noisy". There are a bunch of things that can make a pump loud, from flow restrictions to motor bearings to stuck relays.

It's definitely not a stuck relay type of noise, more a physical noise.

I'm getting the same movement of water from the Jets, so I don't think it's a flow restriction.

I'm presently trying to get the inspection panel off, then perhaps I might be able to get a better idea of where it's coming from.

So, a grinding noise would you say? Probably motor bearings. An electric motor shop can take care of that.

Thanks for the advice, when I get the cover off, I'll try holding a piece of wood against the pump and put the other end to my ear. I should be able to confirm that the motor bearings are grinding.

Sorry to bother you again.

I've managed to get the cover off (My tub is sunk into the deck, I had to remove some deck boards before I could get it off), but I can't see a pump in there.

I've got the controller mounted onto a metal pipe, which I think contains the Heater, but there is no sign of a pump. 

I don't think I've got another access cover.
