Accidentally added bromine to chlorine pool

Recommended Posts

I did a search for this and I there are a lot of threads on this subject but, my question did not result in any search results so I’m sorry if already been answered.

I am a first time AGP owner. Neighbor said had chlorine tabs leftover from their pool so I didn’t need to buy more tabs yet. I have a 13’ x 42” AGP so a little less than 3k gallons. I added 4 tabs last night to newly filled pool. Realized this morning they are NOT chlorine but Bromine 😱! Pulled tab dispenser out and tabs don’t appear to have dissolved hardly at all. Considering how little was added to pool, am I safe to use Chlorine or do I really need to empty and start all over? Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
