does anyone know (especially you dealers) if HS is changing the jets on the 2006 Grandee to be more like those on the Sundance Optima (silver exteriors and more sturdy)? thanks and have a happy turkey day.

I would recommend you to read the Sundance warranty. You will notice that the warranty on the jets is actually two years, but the Hotspring has 5 years on its jets. Not that the warranty on the jets should have any bearing on your purchase when you are comparing Hotspring to Sundance.

Secondly, Hotspring is considering adding a silver finish to their jets and this finish will have no affect whatsoever on the performance of the actual jet.

I think you can expect just about everyone to have the SS jet covers from what the show had (I'm still not sure what they do for people but to each his/her own) but what do you mean about sturdier jets? I haven't seen anything about Hot Springs changing their jets or needing to relative to Sundance's? Did a Hot Springs dealer say they were making a change or was a Sundance dealer saying they should?

TUO,

There is a rumor going around in my neck of the woods that Hotspring is using stainless steel covers on the jets much like Sundance next year. I believe she misinterpreted that as Hotspring making their jets more sturdy. This change would just be cosmetic.

To many people buy their spa from the sizzle of the showroom with less thought given to the long term practicality of the backyard, solid construction and a company that stands behind their product should be what you look for. stainless on the jets is way way down on that list.

Tuo, did you see all the lighted jets on some spas a the show. I wonder how many people realize that as soon as you sit in that seat with all the lights coming out of the jets that they are no more. I would find it insulting that someone would try and fool me with this way but many are fooled.

the HS dealer said that he heard through the grapevine that the jets on the grandee will be silver like those on the Sundance optima. when i was at the Sundance dealer he showed me some Sundance jets and some supposed HS jets (not installed in the spa) the quality of the HS jets did appared sturdier, the moving pats were less flimsy, and the jet itself was heavier. I interperted his comments about HS changing their jets to Sundance like jets HS trying to catch up to Sundance as that is how it was presented, strangely as it may seem coming from an HS dealer.

thanks for responding,

If you like the SS look then hold out for it and ask the dealer if they'll come that way. As far as the sturdiness of teh jets, neither has an issue in that regard that I know of so that might be some salesmanship. Ask lots of questions of the dealers and if in doubt keep posting your questions here and there are plenty of people who know both products pretty well.
