johntuinals
Hi alllll I have had my Jacuzzi J-355 since 2004 and really had no trouble. A few days ago my Spa was showing a FLO and a temp of 78 (I had it on at 104}I called somebody local and he said it had to be a Flo Pump and would cost around $450 (Just the pump}And he was telling me that these pumps go all the time. But by speaking to him I felt he might be ripping me off with out seeing the spa..I call a Jacuzzi dealer about 45 mins from me but they said that they cannot get to the spa for another 3 weeks. But the lady was very helpful, she said to shut off all the power to the unit and take off all the filters and use a Plunger to get the Air out off the system.{I am using New Filters}Seems to work great after I did every thing she told me too do.12 hours later the Flo popped up again.I shut off the electric again and took off the filters and Plunger it again, and it works great for 6 hours till the Flo came back on..Last night before going to sleep I redid everything I did before and 15 hours later the spa is working great NO Flo error.....Maybe because I did not use the snap on Cover that covers the filters I left off?If thats the case maybe there might still be a FLO problem with the cover on?What would you good folks do?And for now I am keeping the Filter Cover off....................JT
CanadianSpaTech
3 hours ago, johntuinals said: and use a Plunger to get the Air out off the system she should be fired...had a spa couple of mths ago and customer blew out about 10 jet seals using a plunger. Laing e10 $159.00: https://www.spadepot.com/Laing-E10-Spa-Circulating-Pump-34-Barb-120V-P708C300.aspx Page 104 right hand side of page here: https://www.guillens.com/images/jac/pdf/2012 Jacuzzi Hot Tub Repair Parts.pdf The Laing E10 pumps are notorious for starting and stopping once they get worn out. They are a magnetic drive system and the magnets either get weak over time or the impeller bearings wear out causing the impeller to wobble. Calcium can also cause issues inside the housing. Not saying this is your issue...just say'n Anytime you have any issue with your spa always remove the filters until the issue is fixed. Remove them from the equation...new or not. You could also have a FLO switch issue with the toggle not making proper contact with the post (debris). The flow switch detects the flow of water through the heater to protect it from dry firing. So the circ turns on and creates flow the flow switch detects the flow of water and allows the heater to turn on. The flow switch housing is clear so you should be able to see first if you have water flowing through it and second that the toggle is making good contact with the post. If you can't see water flowing through it backtrack to the circ pump and look there.
johntuinals
Seems that the Jacuzzi has been running great and staying at 102 temp since late last night.(23 hours} I have the Cover off (that covers the filters}and afraid to put it back on thinking that the Flo will come back on.(maybe the problem is solved?} Maybe if all is working well maybe I should put the cover back on in a few days and see what happens? At least I am narrowing the problem down? Was thinking having the Jacuzzi or other Tech put on a Flo Switch and Heat Sensor in if problem comes back.Thanks....JT
johntuinals
Well the Flo went off for almost 2 days, but came back on. Screw the Plunger,I went to a Local repair store and they will be coming out Next Monday. I feel since its a 16 year old spa,I felt let them find whats up with the hot tub....So it will cost me atads i guess, but in the end the winter I hope will be problem free....JT
johntuinals
Had a Tech come out today and said that the Flo Switch was good. But need to replace the Laing 3/4B 230v circ pump for $450 with tax included I am sure I am paying atads more for the pump butttt thats what you pay when you hire a Hot Tub Tech. Think overall I will be paying around $700 buttttt he said my spa was in excellent shape being 16 years old and not trying to sell me a Flow Switch also lol.....JT
