bsbush
Hello, I have a new inflatable hot tub. I filled it with well water, and tested it. The pH is very low like <6.4. Total alkalinity high (can’t remember number but greater than the “max” marker on the test strip). I’m assuming the pH is low due to acid rain? How can I fix this? waterbear
test the water with a drop based test kit or get it tested at a pool store that does not test with strips to get some accurate numbers. TO raise your pH do NOT add pH up or baking soda! YOu want to aerate the water (all jets and aerators on full) and the pH will rise as CO2 gases off. Here is how you fix it! https://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28846-lowering-total-alkalinity-howto/
