north
I recently bought a house that came with a hot tub. The tub itself is from 1996 and is a Sunrise 799. The filters are from Pleatco and are threaded. They say 8 1/4" tall but also 14" tall. What exactly is my size here? I have searched online for anything that looks like this from Pleatco but it doesn't appear to exist anymore.

RDspaguy
https://www.spa-daddy.com/pleatco+PSN50+filter+cartridges+f.html This one is threaded. For the non-threaded variety you need this. https://www.poolandspapartsdepot.com/pleatco-1-1-2-quick-release-adapter-male-pipe-thread-p4-f004/

Based on what you sent me, is it just that Pleatco is the important part? I just don't understand the numbers. The ones you linked me to list different measurements for the one I have, so I just want to understand how to determine whether something will fit or not. RDspaguy
The part number is PSN50. They come in 2 varieties, threaded and keyed. You said yours is threaded so if you get a keyed one you need the adapter. It is a 50 square ft filter, which can be accomplished with various sizes depending on the number and depth of the pleats (folds) in the filter media. It would be a long google search to find one that meets the same measurements, but a supply store could match it up by comparison or cross-reference different brands.
