Etay
Hi, I have a 20 year old hot tub that has original pumps and a blower. They all work!! Recently, the blower motor started making noises while it ran and it was full of water. It tripped the breaker. My question is why is this happening all of a sudden now? The blower still works, always starts normally then a few seconds later it makes that weird noise with the water. Can I fix this somehow? Thank you for your assistance! RDspaguy
Yes, you can fix it. What brand is it? Blowers are protected from water by a hartford loop under the spa shoulder and a check valve. Check valves fail, and a high water level from overfill or multiple bathers can overflow the loop. In some cases the loop itself can drop over time from loss of support. A new check valve will solve the issue, but if the loop has dropped it should be addressed. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.spadepot.com/Blower-Check-Valve-14-152-P711C725.aspx&ved=2ahUKEwint9Le5JnqAhWNKM0KHb-_B94QFjAAegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw10CCtKeXXuJ1sGj7Hc1Otu
Etay
Thank you for the reply! I will replace the blower and install a new check valve. When I cut the pipe to replace will it pour out water? Or is it just residual water in the pipe?
RDspaguy
Just residual.
