TJKarnos Posted June 5, 2020 Report Posted June 5, 2020 Hello, I am a new homeowner. My home came with a working Caldera Vacanza hot tub, however I am unable to find the drain valve. I opened the side hole (see pictures) but there is nothing there. The only loose hose that I see is the one highlighted in the picture. Can someone let me know what I am missing? Thanks Quote
CanadianSpaTech Posted June 5, 2020 Report Posted June 5, 2020 The drain valve is usually the weakest fitting in most spas. I usually tell my customers not to use it. If you have one end of your garden hose lower than the spa and then take the other end while the spa is still running and place it over a running jet until you see water coming out the other end you will have created a siphon. Keep the end under water and drop it down into the foot well it will drain the spa completely. Them turn off main power What I recommend is to buy a Quick Drain... It will drain the spa pretty quick and can also be used as a vacuum to remove any debris from the spa between clean outs. No big pumps and easy to use. castletonia Posted June 5, 2020 Report Posted June 5, 2020 Drain valve is in the outside of the hot tub. On the front side ( control panel side) look towards the bottom, below the exterior cabinet and it will be either in the left bottom or right bottom. 1 Quote

I also read the user manual. Quote

Do you have a long garden hose laying around? You can easily drain the sucker using a long hose and nothing else. True it's not the fastest option in the world, but I can drain my 200-gallon tub in about an hour with this method: https://www.hunker.com/12002448/how-to-drain-a-hot-tub-with-a-hose Quote
castletonia Posted June 6, 2020 Report Posted June 6, 2020 What’s the serial number of the hot tub? Company I work for has been a Caldera dealer since 2014 and I’ve never seen one without an external drain. I can look up the year based on the serial number and find a plumbing diagram. Quote

I don't know where is the serial number but here is the owner's manual: https://www.calderaspas.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/caldera-spas-vacanza-series-owners-manual-2014.pdf Quote
