Bromine tablets cake together

The bromine tablets I've loaded into the floating dispenser in my hot tub keep caking up together, forming a solid mass that is very difficult to break up and remove. What's the best way to clean out my floating dispenser and how can I keep this from happening again?

Only need 2 at a time and have 1 exposed. overfilling the tube is unnecessary in my humble opinion

I've been using bromine tablets in my CalSpa for 31.5 years now.

Did we talk before? I am happy if you are happy with bromine chemistry. I used to teach a class on it back in the day. I dislike tablets because of the constant ph drag and resulting headaches and problems. I am not trying to change your mind, do what works for you. I am a minimalist when it comes to chems in my spa.
