HerrimanCoder Posted March 8, 2020 Report Posted March 8, 2020 I have a 2009 Caldera Cumberland spa, and I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the pictured wires go to the temperature sensors. What is your confidence level? Is there any way to know for sure? Quote
RDspaguy Posted March 8, 2020 Report Posted March 8, 2020 The left one is a light, the other a sensor. Quote

RDspaguy Posted March 9, 2020 Report Posted March 9, 2020 Yes, the temperature sensor. It also has a sensor on the heater tube inside the control box, called a hi-limit. Is this idle curiosity or are you having some problem related to sensors? Quote

I want to put a 1K ohm resistor on the wire so I can get the spa temp a little higher than the lousy 104 limit. So regarding the hi-limit heater tube inside the control box, how does that detect the water temp, and do I need to put a resistor on that one as well? Thanks again. Quote
RDspaguy Posted March 9, 2020 Report Posted March 9, 2020 I am not sure if you need to, probably not, but I am sure you wont be able to. It is not a wire, but a film strip. I would not recommend this course of action. Not only is the 104 cutoff there for health reasons, it is there for legal liability reasons as well. Tampering with the designed safety features of a product makes you legaly responsible for any resulting occurence. Just a bit of advice from a small business owner... Quote
