JKG
currently have a small in ground salt water pool approximately 15000 gallons. have a Pentair 1.5 hp pump that everyone is saying is designed for above ground pools. it has worked great for 5 years but finally crapped out. was going to stay with same style but go up to 2hp. looking for thoughts or suggestions
RDspaguy
Pumps are sized according to the pipes as well as the pool. Just putting in a bigger pump may not greatly increase your flow, but could cause the new pump to burn up, or damage your filter and other equipment, or even blow apart piping underground depending how it was built. I say if it isn't broke don't fix it.
