navman5000
Just thought ...posting a pic of the problem on the Classic tub broken coupler. This flex pipe has a plastic weld of sorts that holds coupler it is not removable ...well yeah it has to be removed for replacement. Question is can it be repaired replaced or am I doomed? Cheers to the New Year!!!! Navman
Tubber49
Easy, peasy. The toughest part of this is getting the old coupler off or, if you choose not to stress too much, just unscrew it and push it up the flex pipe. Then you get a split-nut union that screws together and then screw it down.
navman5000
Thanks for posting your reply with the fix. Now I have to find one! Will check with the Hotsprings dealer down the street. Really did not want to part with my tub...it has been a great one! Thanks again! Cusser
You might need to get that online, too bad the earlier post did not include a link. I don't know if a real hardware store or plumbing supply store would stock these. pump union split nut here https://www.spadepot.com/Pump-Unions-C716.aspx Yes, the broken part is a large "coupler nut", and likely you should add a new O-ring - if there is one - at the time of repair. Tubber49
They're easily available. My local spa shop had one. The pic is from ebay. Without taking the entire section apart there is no way to replace the O-ring or gasket. I'd use the one that is in the existing part.
