davefr
Hi, I ordered a Marquis Spirit Spa that will be installed in a couple days. I plan to wire it direct to 240v which I understand provides the higher voltage only to the heater. I think I made the mistake of not ordering the MP160 pump upgrade option since my spa will be a dedicated 240V installation. 1. Can the MP160 pump upgrade be a dealer installed field upgrade vs factory upgrade? 2. I assume the stock MP120 pump is still at 120VAC even if the spas is wired for 240v? 3. Is the MP160 upgrade pump 120V or 240V? Can it be a drop in replacement or does the control board need to be reconfigured to supply the MP160 pump 240VAC. castletonia
Yes, your dealer can install the MP160 pump upgrade. However, it will likely cost you more money since your dealer has to do the work and order another pump. I doubt they want an extra pump in their inventory. Yes, the MP120 pump is 120V regardless of how the tub is wired. The MP160 is a 240V pump. Should be a drop in upgrade. No circuit board change necessary however there might be some dip switches that need to be changed, which your dealer can do.
