Caldera - Access to internal components to diagnose leak and replumb waterfall valve

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. Thanks in advance for any advice!I have a 2010 Caldera Cantabria (Serial # CAB4M3006). This is a second hand hot tub. I’m hoping that the issues I’m having can be fixed and this doesn’t turn into an expensive life lesson.

Here’s the problem I’m having. A few days ago, I noticed that I was losing maybe half an inch to an inch of water overnight. I opened the Equipment Compartment where the circulating pump, heater and jet pump # 3 are located and the compartment is completely dry.

I then removed a board from the deck and was able to pinpoint that there is a leak coming from the side of the hot tub immediately to the right of the Equipment Compartment. I have no idea what is located here and have not attempted to remove the paneling. Can someone explain how I get access to this location? I assume that I simply take out all of the exterior panel screws and the shell should come off.

I’m debating having a repairman come out, but I’d like to try to identify where the leak is coming from before I do this.

Also, I’m not sure if this could be contributing to the leak, but the waterfall valve is missing (which is on the same side as the leak). When we fired up the hot tub and activated Jet #2 water was surging out of the waterfall valve location. The next day Pump #2 stopped working. (See attached picture)

As to the waterfall valve, I talked with Caldera tech support and they informed me that I need to replumb the waterfall valve because the original 2010 Cantabria waterfall valve, is no longer manufactured. Instead, Caldera makes a 90 degree version (Part Number 77438). I’ve completed custom fish tank pvc plumbing with success. . . however, is this type of repair something that a layperson could do or would you recommend a professional?

Attached is a diagram of the hot tub. The line I added which says "leak" is the side of the tub I'm trying to get access to. Number 19 is the waterfall valve, which is completely missing and needs to be replumbed in once I order the part.

Sorry for the long post, but I’ve been having a difficult time finding information online and thought I’d open this up to the community for input and advice.

Best to start with your dealer.  They can get the correct parts and have the know how to fix it right.  The panels will need to be remove and after the repair, the area will need new foam insulation.  All things the dealer can do best.
