Kyah Posted July 4, 2018 Report Share Posted July 4, 2018 I have a very frustrating problem with our hot tub. We got it about 2 months ago from a friend so it is about 6 years old. It's been going great and then one night we were woken up by this soft squealing/ whistling noise. Dr Google told me it must be the pump bearings. So we got in touch with a "pool doctor" who confirmed it must be that. They took the pump away for testing, but rang me the next day to say that the pump is just fine and so are the bearings. So they brought it back, but we still have the problem. The noise comes on randomly and seems to go away if we keep turning the main air valve around or turning the pump on and off. But then eventually it comes back again. Although I just turned the heater off and that seemed to have stopped the noise too. We're at a loss though as to what to do or what it could be. Any ideas?
