noah Posted May 12, 2018 Report Share Posted May 12, 2018 390 gal hot tub can’t measure free mchlorine. Added 5 scoops of R-0870 and still no pink. New Taylor kit and chemicals. Hot tub was unused for many months. Added multiple spoonfuls of Clorox pool and spa chlorinating granules and ran jets. Anything else I should do? noah Posted May 13, 2018 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2018 A new kit, and measuring immediately after adding resolved the problem. Looks like chlorine goes away pretty quickly if there is lots of bacteria. So I suspect the first time I added, the chlorine got used up and was all gone before the next time I tested it.
