Help determining model of intermatic switch needed

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have an older spa with a two speed pump.  The pump circulates full time on low speed, then there is a intermatic wall timer that when turned on switches the pump to high speed.  I need to know what model of intermatic switch to purchase to replace the broken switch.  This is on a rental cabin 300 miles away so I can't just run and look at model number on switch.

See attached photos

Thanks,

Jim

I can't open the photo.  The timers use one of several similar looking motors, the timer motor part number is printed on the timer motor itself.  You need to find out stuff like whether the timer is 120 volt, or 240 volt.  Model number of the timer should be pasted on inside of timer door.  Replacement timer motors can be available at good hardware stores, homedepot.com, or online.

I have an Intermatic 240 volt wall timer I use for my electric water heater, and I installed 120 volt timer motor and wired separately for the timer part to be independent from the "load" side of the wall timer (did that for electrical rate stuff I had back then).

So sounds like someone closer to this will need to take a look-see; since you're so far away it might pay off just to call an electrician, tell him in advance that the timer clock is not advancing.  It might be less $$$ to have electrician just replace the entire wall timer.  This 240 volt model (essentially identical to the one I use on my water heater) is at most Home Depot stores at $54  https://www.homedepot.com/p/Intermatic-40-Amp-240-Volt-Electric-Water-Heater-Time-Switch-WH40DL3/203557614?cm_mmc=Shopping|THD|G|0|G-VF-PLA-D27E-Electrical|&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhJzEzOnX2AIVCmd-Ch08GAWKEAQYASABEgIeSvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJCxmYDr19gCFVSIYgodGGoH2w
