KevinW
Hello everyone, Kevin from Iowa here, I joined your forum looking for some advice / help. My wife and I bought our house a couple years ago and it has a hot tub. The motor went out so I ordered a replacement from the manufacturer. The new one sits up about 1/4 inch higher and are not in line with the solid connection ends. Any idea's on how to fix? My thought is to cut out the floor where the motor sits and fill it in to the height that works? Anyone run into this before and solve the issue with a better idea? castletonia
Are there rubber grommets between the motor and the base it screws into? If so, your could trim those down. A lot of times a 1/2” won’t make a difference because there is enough play in the plumbing but if it is, re-plumbing is a last resort. Kevin - CALL the manufacturer, tell them the issue, this should not be a surprise to them !!! maybe it's a wrong replacement. Anyway, they should know a "fix". mdb007
Hi Kevin, Welcome aboard and Merry Christmas! We installed a used 2003 Sundance Marin given to us this past summer and I had to replace pump housing as it cracked from improper winterization. There should be some flex in the union connections attached to the pump volute which attached to the motor and with just a 1/4" difference I would think you could move it that much. Any pictures to let us see along with model? Bill
