Stevehi
I have a 2006 cal spa system 2000 with a balboa cs6200 board in it. I changed the temp sensors yesterday because it was throwing a HH daily. After I changed the sensors I’m getting a SN error code after start up prime and then a IC code. It just blinks back and forth between 39 and IC. Is there a reset button anywhere I have to press after the sensor change? I’ve reset the breaker a few times and no change. I can feel water flow out of one or the small circulation jets. The main pumps don’t turn on any ideas?
Jersey Hot Tub Repair
Depending upon the season, I service 25-50 tubs a week. At least 50% of the time I see overheat errors, it's because of dirty filters. Remove the filters, restart the tub, and let us know if the problem goes away. Cusser
My own 1988 CalSpa stopped heating, was due to partially clogged filter cartridge, so the low pressure would not activate the pressure switch for it to heat. Was an easy fix. Glad my 1988 was before a zillion electronic controls, for sure.
castletonia
No reset on the hot tub, just the breaker. Do you still have the original pumps in the hot tub? Back then Cal Spas did not have the greatest pumps. Those GE motors were a switchless motor and had a separate winding for low and high speed. I have seen it where those windings would fuse together and you lose a speed. I have also seen the shaft seal leak and cause the motor to seize up. If the pump doesn't turn on, then the water in the heater boils and you get the "HH" reading. The water flow could be from a separate circulation pump, but unlike most other spas, it does not flow through the heater. Jet pump 1 is what goes through the heater. The electronics on those were pretty reliable.
