Geneva Utopia not heating

Maybe someone can help. We lost power last week, not sure if that has anything to do with it.  But hot tub was at 65 degrees the next day when it was set at 102.  Any suggestions,  no air stuck in the pipes.  Heater on light is on , there are no error codes on the display. And hot tub will actually heat to about 74 degrees when the jets have been running for a while, but wont get any higher, and goes back down to 65 when you shut them off.   Thinking maybe the heater just went or the hi limit sensor..yet no error codes.  Any suggestions will help.  Thanks a bunch

I believe the Utopia uses the Watkins 2020 pack.  It will be a large blue box hanging in the interior of the tub. You 'll probably also see the stainless steel heater tube, which looks sort of like a piece of a trombone.  If that's what you've got, then read on:

First, check all the fuses on the circuit board, in case your power outage zapped one of them.  Remember, turn the power off, then remove the fuse from the circuit board to check for continuity.  Do not remove the fuses if the power is on, unless you want to electrocute yourself.

The Hi Limit sensor usually will give you four dashes on the display if it goes.   I doubt that's the problem.

You're describing the jet pumps increasing the temperature by friction, which is normal.

Are you getting water through the circulation pump?  You can check that at the water return in the tub.

If the heater light is on but there's no heat, you may have a bad heater or a bad heater relay board.  Open the control box, the heater relay board is on the left.  Is it burned?

Use a volt meter to check the white and black wires going to the heater.  You should have 115 from each wire to ground, and  240VAC across the two wires. You can put your voltmeter probes into the hole above the wire in the terminal block to check.  And be careful - there's a lot of voltage in there, you don't want to get killed.
