Beachcomber 580 Problem

Hi folks,!

We have a 580 which was purchased new in 2000. It has a Balboa DU2500ES control system. It has been  mothballed for the past couple of years and I am trying to get it going again. I have replaced the nozzles and most of the plumbing. It was filled with water yesterday.

On power up, it starts to heat with the pump on low. Temp is indicated. I can turn the light off and on but cannot set the temp or select high pump. It's like those buttons just do nothing.

I fooled the tub sensor into thinking water was at 100 F and the heater turns off as does the pump. I cleaned the RJ45 connector going to the panel and soon after the pump shifted to high but I still had no control and had to power down. Any thoughts? Thanks!
