NateStreeter Posted July 16, 2017 Report Share Posted July 16, 2017 Opened up hot tub to find that water was down over a foot. Here is video I made: Opened up cover and found leak at the heater. Also looks like there is white build up on it. Will I be needing to replace whole heater assembly? P.S. The LED lights don't work right at all. At first a few started to not work after like a year. Then a few used to stay on all the time and controls didn't do anything. Now none come on. Is that something that is an easy fix while I have this all open? NateStreeter Posted July 20, 2017 Author Report Share Posted July 20, 2017 We usually put in several tablespoons of chlorine once or twice a week. With water changes once or twice a year. Perhaps that has created this problem, as we don't do any water testing or anything? I have a leak at the opposite end of my heater... in the plastic. You can see the mineral buildup. I really could use a reply. Thanks in advance. You can buy the gaskets if the plastic isn't cracked. alaska_guy Posted January 3, 2019 Report Share Posted January 3, 2019 White is also more than likely due to mineral buildup/scale. If you are not using a water purifier/filter on your garden hose when filling up the tub I would look into doing that. They are cheap and reusable ($13).
