Posted July 8, 2017 Report Share Posted July 8, 2017 We have two separate water features both have the same problem, our fill water has a low alkalinity 70mg/ltr so we add alkalinity increaser to 100mg/ltr. We control the pH with sodium bisulphate through measuring and control systems, we believe the acid is reducing the alkalinity to such a low level we get pH bounce which causes a knock on effect of the redox probe and causes the bromine levels to be out. Also we used to use a amperometric chlorine probe but the bicarbonates in the alaklnity increaser cause the probe to miss measure due to blocking the small pores on the probe, so we are advised by the manufacturer, so we moved over to redox.
