obxcape
I recently purchased several bags of salt from Lowes to maintain the salt level in my pool that uses a chlorine generator. I had tested the water and, other than the salt level being at 2700, all was fine. I distributed 1 bag (40 lbs) throughout the pool and, within 1 hour, the pool water started turning green. I applied a shock treatment and by the following day the water had cleared up. The salt was Chlorox brand. I contacted the chlorox people thru their website but cannot get a response. Does anyone have any idea why this particular salt would turn the water green? I've used other brands with no problems. This was my first time using the chlorox brand. Thanks for your input. I bought it at Lowes. I've been using a chlorine generator for quite a few years and this is the first time I have used this Clorox Salt...and the last time. I've never had this happen and Clorox will not respond to several messages I have sent them asking WHY this happened.
