bbqbrisket
I know that many of the spa motors are manufactured in either Mexico or China but does anyone have any input on who makes the best 1 hp 2 speed motor ? thanks
Jersey Hot Tub Repair
It's really a crap shoot. I've had Waterway and Aquaflo pumps that were 12 years old and I've had them die inside of 6 months. Even within brands, they use different motors so you can't generalize. Several manufacturers are starting to use LX pumps which are cheaper. Ask me in a year or two and I'll let you know how they last. If a spa manufacturer can save 25% on motors and see their failure rate increase 5%, it may be a good tradeoff for them. I'm not saying LX pumps have a 5% greater failure rate, just that spa manufacturers worry about the bottom line, not individual tubs. Mammiewalker
As per my experience cropmton is the best company for the spa motors. I am using it since last 2 years and i am greatly satisfied by its performance. You can also try once.
Rickroebuck
Hello friends, i had worked for 2 years in salon. I roughly remember that they used cropmton and sometimes STUCCU companies spa motors. I am not 100% sure but they were these two companies only. Cusser
My 1988 CalSpa still has its original Hayward Power Flo motor; once I had to replace the seal on the pump part.
AlicattP
My Winner AMC has 3 LX200 pumps, not sure on the age but I guess around early 2000s, I have just replaced the bearings in the circulation pump, the other 2 pumps are still running fine. I think there are much better pumps out there than the LX.
Jersey Hot Tub Repair
Much better than 15 years out of a pump? I think you got your money's worth out of those motors. We're seeing a lot of failures in the 5-7 year range, and e few that are going after only 3 or 4.
