chuck/belinda Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 24'X52' above ground intex with saltwater took sample to pool store, free chlorine 8.5 total chlorine 8.59,ph 8,0,calcium 116,alkalinity 174, stabilizer 34, salt at 4450, they had us add 1/2 gal of acid and 3lbs of shock with 6lbs of stabilizer, water still lite green, can you shock a salt water pool too much? chem geek Posted June 23, 2014 Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 If it's clear green, then it's likely metals in the water. If you have a blue vinyl liner then the water may be yellow from iron and looks green due to yellow+blue = green. If lowering the pH has the water look less green, then it's likely iron.
