fibercoug
What is the purpose of the bypass hose coming off the circulation pump? I believe my pump is getting weak (it is the original one) and I would like to plug the bypass to get more flow into the heater until I get a replacement pump. Will this cause any problems? Hot Spring Official
Hi fibercoug, This is a drain line. Plugging this would not increase water flow to the heater. Thanks, Steve ---Hot Spring Spas---
PreservedSwine
It could be a 1/8"drain line, or he could be referring to the water-feature plumbing as well. Hard to tell without more specifics. If your circ pump flow is weak, try cleaning your filters.
fibercoug
This is the bleed line from the elbow just off the circulation pump to the filter compartment. Since it is on the output side of the pump plugging it will divert more water to the heaters. Filters are clean. I am more interested in what the purpose of this bleed line is. Hot Spring Official
Hi fibercoug, Thanks for the clarification! This is designed to help air escape from your circ pump. When you fill your spa back up, there is air in the circ pump that occasionally does not escape. This line helps release this air and if it is plugged you will increase the chances of an air lock.
