Phosphates: 200 My pool is an 15000 gallon inground gunite pool. We just had a huge wind storm and I had lots of leaves and debris in the pool. All the stuff is cleaned out of the pool now and the water is clear, but when I had my water tested at Leslie's today they gave me this printout and tried to sell me lots of stuff. chem geek Posted October 8, 2013 Report Share Posted October 8, 2013 You should get your own good test kit and not trust the pool store numbers as they may be way off. Get the Taylor K-2006 test kit you can get at Amazon or at TFTestkits. IF the pool store numbers were correct, then you should get some Muriatic Acid to lower the pH to around 7.5. You can get Muriatic Acid at a hardware or big-box store. You can also get calcium chloride to raise the CH to 300 ppm and you can get that as Peladow or Dowflake de-icing products. You can use The Pool Calculator to calculate dosages. If you are manually dosing your pool, say with chlorinating liquid or bleach, you should make sure to have a minimum FC that is at least 7.5% of the CYA level at all times. If you have a saltwater chlorine generator (SWG) pool, then the FC should be at least 5% of the CYA level. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
