I have a 1998 Hot Springs Classic F model and it will not heat up unless the jets are on full blast, And then it gets way to hot... i always have to press the reset button to turn on the jets.. the tub reset button doesn't do anything not sure what that is about ?

Anyway i am just not sure what i am doing wrong or if it has a broken part...Help!

Your circulation pump is bad. That's the little pump, not the big jet pump.

Or - it could be a clogged filter.

What Chas said- the heater is actually working fine, don't replace it.

The circ pump has failed (As Chas said, the little one), or the filter is clogged.

With a dead circ pump, the heater is overheating and tripping the "heater high limit" after a minute or two. When you reset it and hit the jets button, the heater circuit does not energize, and you're just getting heat from the large jet pump and heat generated by the friction of the water, with no way to control it.
