Anyone ever sit in one these with water in it? Without water they are very uncomfortable.

Do they have one pump or two, what's the HP?

I've read the bad, I want to hear the positive stuff.

Read any of my post if you want to know the good. I have this tub since the first of Feb and love it.

This site has a spec sheet, it's tough to read on a computer monitor, but it looks like pump 1 is 3hp and pump 2 is 4hp, not sure if this is brake or peak HP.

The boruchure from this same website http://www.platinumhottubs.com says you can call (in Canada) 1-866-486-1365 and in the US 1-800-749-8003 for more info.

I hope thier hot tubs are better than thier web site.

Made call 10:45am, service guy transfered me to sales, sales person said it has two 5hp pumps and a circulation pump. time now is 10:48. Wish my internet provider could get on the phone that fast.

That's what I read as well. So I called again and asked the lady said something that made no sense to me about how they end up 5hp. At this point I am unsure about reality, nothing new there.

Its a PDF, download and rotate it...and you can even use the little magnifier to increase the size so easy to read.

Yes, I was able to look at the PDF. Very fuzzy and small. This does not explain why the sales girl said twice that it had two 5hp and the PDF said one 3hp and one 4hp.

I doubt it has 7 continuous hp total. If it is stating a 3hp and a 4hp pump then that is surely BHP (brake HP), or salesmanship HP. True HP (continuous HP) would be rated about half that.

What does "brake" mean? Top end?

Think of it as the "Starting HP". Have you ever seen a pump start and the light in the house dims at that moment of start up. That starting HP is higher but is momentary and not to be compared to the continuous HP that you feel while in the spa after that brief spit second. Most spa companies nowadays list continuous HP rather than BHP because that is all that matters to the consumer. Some list both so you can compare to the few who still only show the BHP which kills me because it is 100% deceptive if used all by itself. You may see a spa and say "gee, this one has a 3 & a 4 hP pump yet brand X just has a 1.5 & a 2hp pump" yet they are really about the same.

When shopping always ask if its continuous or Brake HP. If it is BHP and they understand the difference they are knowingly snowing you. If they don't know the difference then they are just uninformed but whoever made the literature is snowing you.

its like it has four pumps uummmm does it??? three for jets and one to circulate. everybody thinks it has four to run the jets.

LOL, they are probably lumping the blower in and calling that a pump also. That's a similar trick used at times because people think jet pump when they hear the word "pump". You want to know "how many jet pumps" it has, NOT "how many pumps"!!!!

BTW, when a blower goes bad my opinion is to just disconnect it and let it be because I find them to be pretty much useless. However, I realize other people like them for whatever reason so forgive me for seeing little/no value in them (other than to cool down the water LOL).

Dont take this personal but when I read this post I dont quit understand what you mean.....

Your buddy was caught doing what? Is your buddy actually your buddy or do you mean the salesman? I just dont get a clear picture of what you are trying to say. Also people not cleaning up quotes on this forum bug me but I havent said anything about that. Nothing worse than have to read one of my own long ass post to find where the next poster started their comments. Call me silly.....

plus I just wanted to see what my signature looks like..

just because I own a Costco spa, am I entitled to be a Costco gand member? Salesman here are in the shadows pretending to be owners of a certain brand of spa. Then you have the buyers remorse type of poster here that will defend his, Arctic, Clearwater, Sundance....ect..... Because he spent twice the dough as the Costco gang did and he can't expian why. He only knows he paid alot more, double in most cases so rather then admit he got shirked by his local dealer he adimantly defends his spa as being a "high end spa" yet can't explain how his is better the the "Costco gang spa"

Yeah, soakerman...you can join...you already know the "costco secret"....and you didnt even need a secret decoder ring either! :)

How many jet pumps, ok I'll bite. Jwillard should be able to give us an accurate count as he owns one.

Not sure why you need me to verify...it states right on the manual what it has...a 3hp (pump 1) and a 4hp (pump 2). Look down in the little box at the bottom of the manual.

Based on my PEII owners manual, the PEII has three pumps. 2- 3hp pumps that drive the jets and a 1.5 hp pump that circulates the water 24/7. It may explain why the spa is such an energy hog.
