mag357
Can I get a step by step on how to clean my Jandy aqua pure cell? It has not been cleaned in over two years. No one told me until a few days ago that it had to be cleaned every so often. Thanks
Pool Clown
2 years? Great. Well if it is still functioning, spray water into it (garden hose with a gun on the end) both ways to try to loosen up any of the calcium first. Then get a pot sticker (wood/bamboo, NO metal) and begin to chip away at the calcium between the blades rinsing every so often till you cant get any more loosened. Finally, mix acid and water, 1 part acid to 4 parts water and either soak whole cell in a bucket of the solution, or if you have a plug or cap for one end of the cell just pour the solution into the cell and let soak for about 15 min. Rinse, then repeat with the pot sticker if you still have more. Rinse, then re install and run the pump for about 10 min. Take out and you still have build up, more soaking in the solution 30 min max total time. So that would mean at this point only 15 min more. Note: Usually when a cell has gone this long, you have about a 50/50 chance of bringing it back to functional. How old is this cell?
