AMT4972
I have an older model Hot Spot Model Z (round) serial z140554. The motor is a wave master 3000. and all the parts are stock except some wiring has been replaced over the years as it has degraded. The breaker on the front pops whenever the heating cycle runs for approximately 2.5-3 minutes. According to the wire diagram I have it should only draw nine for the heater coil and 2.5 or so for the pump on low. Any ideas as to why this is happening or solutions. Also the GFCI is not grounded, not sure if this would matter, the ground from outside connects to the box and to the ground from the motor. PreservedSwine
You're referring to the mini-breaker, and not the GFCI, right? The mini-breaker is likely defective, or there's some over-heated wiring inside the control box. That particular control box (just the 1993 and 1994 Hot Spot) has been plagued by wiring issues.
