HTSuz
Looking at a used 2003 Hotsprings Prodigy for $3500 vs new 2012 Jetsetter or Limelight for almost double that ($6600/$6000). All are from a reputable dealer. The used Prodigy was (reportedly) well taken care of; owner traded for new smaller HS tub when moving from large home to a townhome. It comes with 1 year warranty. I'd like a 7 - 10 year life for the tub. Thoughts?
spatech (the unreal one)
My first thought was the Prodigy was certainly too expensive but I see its from the dealer with a 1 year warranty (and I assume its been fully refurbed and looks/runs well) and that justifies a higher cost for obvious reasons but I'm sure you can negotiate that a little better. A new spa would be 9 years newer and have a full warranty for $3k of so more? Seems like a no doubter to me to get a new one if you can afford it, otherwise offer $2800 for the used one and see what they say
spawn
As always, good advice from spatech...
blindrid
I've got a 99 jet setter - parts do go out regardless. I've been able to troubleshoot ade repair pretty easily. New means new heater, pumps, etc. you can't go wrong with new but IMHO you can't go wrong either way depending on your budget. If you can, go new.
