Jeff
I have recently noticed my pool pump has been loosing water pressure after a few hours of running. I've tried changing the DE several times, cleaning both skimmer baskets and still no better results. And yes I've pumped the handle to remove the old DE before adding the new. I have a Hayward 1 Hp not sure of the model number at this time. Any ideas?
Jeff
Since all the views and no replies I took it upon myself to find the problem. if you ever have this problem, the solution is quite simple. turn the pump off, plug both the return line and intake line.drain the pump take it apart and simply clean the filter fingers. still not sure why mine was that dirty after 1 season but it was. igneous
I just saw your post, but yes you're right. DE filters are a pain to clean, but they filter the best. I just turn my 6 way valve to backwash (until water's clear), rinse for 30 sec, and back to filter and I'm good to go. Takes about 5 minutes.
