mlaaw
I just had an inground liner replaced in my kidney shaped pool three weeks ago. I is a 27 mil supermax from triac. In the shallow end the liner is away about an inch or less from the corner where the wall and floor meet. It is this way all around the shallow end including under the steps. Is this normal? It seems like something could puncture the space since its is not against the wall. I other liner I had was a 20mil and I dont remember it being like this. I noticed it when the pool was filling up but though the pressure would push it into place. Should I contact the installer or is this fine ? Thanks, Mike
PoolGuyNJ
Pretty typical. How high off the floor/away from the wall before it makes wall/floor contact? Scott
mlaaw
Pretty typical. How high off the floor/away from the wall before it makes wall/floor contact? Scott I would say no more than an inch. once it makes the slope towards the deep end it becomes flush against the wall. You say typical as in this is ok or bad work? PoolGuyNJ
I'm saying that it is normal. When a liner is fabricated, the floor is made just a bit smaller to reduce the likelihood of wrinkle formation when being filled. Over time, it may settle in under pressure. You old liner likely did it when it was new also. Scott
Pathfinder
This happens when installers dont place something like water tubes against the shallow end wall to prevent the liner being pulled to the deep end when its sucked into place. When your water heats up it should move closer to the wall.
