Pump Is Leaking. Can I Fix Myself?

That appears to be a seal leak. Find out who's the pump manufacturer and order a seal kit. You may need a new impellor too. Replacing a seal is fairly straight forward. Remove the volute cover and unthread the impellor from the shaft. You can hold the shaft still with a large screwdriver inserted at the back of the motor or clamp the shaft between the motor and wet end.

That look like its been leaking for a while so the impeller is going to be a PIA to take off. That's going to be either an ultrajet or vico wet end so that will be the seal you need plus the impeller which is 99% probable. Once you get the impeller off you should take off the back half of the wet end as well to clean the shaft of calcium & rust, use emery cloth.

Yup, that's a Vico. Have fun getting that impeller off if it has been leaking that bad for awhile. It even looks like the front of the motor is well corroded. The Vico's use the PS-2136/AS-2136 shaft seal, but I'd also replace the o-ring that goes between the two halves of the pump. That's going to be in poor shape too, most likely.
