Guest Gail Posted September 26, 2005 Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 Hi, we're looking at an 18 x 33 used pool. i want something i can more or less swim in (maybe 5-10 strokes before i have to turn). is this long enough? (i'm 6 ft tall). if not, we may as well just go with a small round pool which is what my husband wants. also, where we want to put the pool is pretty level although we'll probably have to level it somewhat. does anyone have any idea how much it costs to get the ground ready for a pool? I would imagine minimal levelling and cost of sand and whatever else is needed. if we rent a bobcat does the levelling go pretty quickly? i imagine its worth spending the $200 for a 4 hr rental rather than doing by hand but if we only need to level by an inch or so is it doable by hand? my husband and i are both very handy when it comes to building and DIY projects and really don't want to pay anyone to do this. any advice on expenses involved would be greatly appreciated!
