Black Mold Question

Generally it's Algae, not mold. It can grow under the plaster, in the plaster & on top of the plaster.

It's not uncommon to actually feel it, but mostly it likes an area of LOW CIRCULATION, so you won't find it growing too far off the wall (if at all). Get some algaecide....or try scrubbing it with a 3" chlorine tab. You will find once it starts to grow inside the plaster, it's time for a new interior finish or pool remodel. Good luck

I had three of these spots that were all very similar. One was on the side wall. And two were next to each other on the floor. All about 3" in diameter and fairly round. Rubbed the cholrine tablet on all three, and the spot on the wall was gone the next morning. The two floor spots were unaffected. Been rubbing regularly since to no avail. Left the tablet on for 24 hours which had no affect. I am going to try the vitamic C capsules and see if that helps the other two spots.
