jafpcu
While replacing my old pump, I noticed it is not bolted down. The concrete pad shows no sign of ever having bolts or anchors. Should I anchor the new pump? (Pentair SuperFlo, 3/4HP.) Thanks!
Pool Clown
The only need for that is if it is going to be inspected (new pool). I doubt if you pulled a permit to replace a pump. Its to keep the pump from moving in an earthquake, which won't do any good by the way.
txpoolguy
Depending on where you live, it's probably not necessary. Bolting the pump down does not allow it to move (float) on the equipment pad as the concrete pad shifts & moves. Unless required by code, it's better not to bolt any of your equipment down. It's easier to service in the future and the bolts usually corrode badly anyway.
