Jim & Claudia Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 hi all. Just joined up. great info here. I do need a little help with a couple of things. The concrete guy will be here on Friday to build the form for the pad and the electrician will be here next Wed. to install the sub panel. What I would like to know is, if I bury the conduit from the panel to the Spa what needs to be done to the conduit and wire after it comes out of the ground by the spa. Both contractors are saying"What ever you want me to do". Do I need to come through the pad under the spa or up next to it or install a small pole of some kind. some pictures of what you had done would be nice. Thanks everyone!! JimP Quote

JimP Ask your spa dealer where the placement of the conduit should be. Some can come up anywhere under the spa base and some can go in the side someplace. You can connect flexible to your juntion at the concrete to run inside the spa. Some have holes already in the sides some you have to drill a hole. Ask your dealer. On mine I had to drill a hole so I decided where I wanted the power to be and ran it there. On others there is only a couple choices on the equipment side. Quote

We live a couple of hours away and won't have a chance to go by there till Saturday to have a look. He said the cleanest install was through the pad and into a knockout on the side. Looks like I'll have to wing it on where I stub it out. Quote

Depending on which way your tub is going to face, the entry is most likely, but not always from the equipment side, where your knock out will be. Now you know the other direction. Now you want that one about 1.5 feet in so as to position it on the side of the tub. Quote

Probably too hard to do that at this point and I can use flex to get to it. Just trying to be too *** I guess. Thanks. That sounds like a great way to approach what I needt to do. JimP Quote
