Guest Trevor
Hi - I have a ~450 gallon spa that constantly needs PH up/Alk Up and hardness increasing. Although the hardness seems to stay for a bit, the PH and Alk plummet almost immediately after testing. Meaning it only lasts a day or so before it's back down to below 'acceptable'. I use just chlorine for clarity and cleansing and shock treatments. How can I bring it up and *stay up? Or, why is it seemingly evaporating? Guest james
You need CYA--cyuranic acid, called stabilizer/conditioner under HTH label at walmart or Home depot. You can get it at pool stores too. Just put a small amount in a sock and let it dissolve in spa. It will help stabilize chlorine and keep pH level.
