robin4747
My plastic headrest has an outer coating is starting to disintegrate and I am finding little pieces of thin plastic in the water. What am I doing wrong with my chemicals that would cause this. My tub is only about 2 1/2 years old.

If you replace them you could remove them after each spa use to help them last longer.
Wet in ChiTown
When I get my spa (about 20 days) I think I will be removing my headrests after each use. It will only take a few seconds and I see no point in leaving them on when the cover is on. I have to take care of my baby.

When people complain about pillows color fading (pretty much unavoidable due to chems and ozone) I always counter "well just be happy they're not falling apart". I don't know what you own but some manufacturers have gone to better material to improve pillows the past few years. For instance, Marquis dropped their pillows for years because of issues such as what you're seeing and told people to avoid spa pillows but they do offer them now again with improved materials available. They'll still fade due to chems and ozone and look older than they really are after awhile but hopefully not fall apart. Contact the dealer and see what they have to say. Markee
The new Marquis pillows are a liquid-PVC material that do not deteriorate. They aren't as soft as most pillows on the market, but you don't have to replace them, or deal with placing your head on stinky rotting pillow..
