stlgasman
Is it reasonable/possible to put a dimmer switch on a pool light? Sometimes I don't want the full brightness. Also, is it possible to have some type of remote switch to control the light from a distance?
jkusmier
Dunno whether you can use a dimmer (I doubt it)... Re: remotely operating your light, check out The Clapper Just kidding. You could control all equipment and circuits, including flood and any fiber optics, if you have a control panel that includes or is designed to accommodate a remote/wireless control (I have a Pentair Easy Touch, and although Pentair offers a wireless control accessory I can't presently justify the expense). It allows you to schedule your lights and turn them on/off, but no dimmer option. That's a wiring problem. My flood is a Pentair SAm, which has a halogen source/bulb - you'd need a specialized dimmer if your flood uses a halogen bulb, and such specialized dimmers do exist.
