Most Efficient Way To Run Spa

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am new to this spa thing. We just used our new Marquis Rendezous for the first time last night, and it was great! But I'm wondering about the most efficient way to run it. I expect to use it a few times a week for about 15-30 minutes a time. I find it comfortable at 100-101 degrees. Should I keep it set so it keeps a constant temperature, or would it be more efficient to turn the temp down a little when I'm not using it, say to 90-95 degrees? What do most spa owners do?

It's a small spa, 150 gallons, and we have 220 electric hook-up. It only took a few hours to heat it from 55 degrees to 100 degrees the first time! Thanks for your help.

It will save you a little bit to turn it up and down but I never found it to be worth my trouble. A few pennys a day of savings.....I deserve to splurge, after all I bought a hot tub. With that tub your savings is minumal. If you owned a big box, Costco, cookie cutter poorly insulated tub it would save you more and may be more valuable in order to not quickly loose the initial up front savings.

Thanks for the info, Roger. What does everyone else think about leaving it run up to temp?

I keep mine set at 102 all the time but them I use it every day. I would not want ot wait for it to come up to that temp from a lower setting.

If I was only going to use it once a month I could see lowering it but I would think you would require more elec to keep reheating it.

Like someone said set it and forget it!
