TinyBubbles
Rick, that would be incredible easy to build. Great links. Biggz, congrats to the Mrs. on her new ride. The only reason I want to go with an offset umbrella is ease of use. Most of the time I want to see the stars, so I figure this will be neatly out of the way. If it's misting or lightly raining, I figure we can use it to soak. It's so had to accomplish anything right before the holidays. A minor errand turns into a major, frustrating experience with all the traffic and crowds. I guess I'll have to put things off until first of the year. B0Darc
{sipped} That's not a martini, that's a foo foo mixed drink. Here's a real martini recipe 9/10 vodka, 1/10 olive juice. Cheers. LOL! busted... well mango juice has lots of vitamins so it's countering all the bad effects of the vodka hhaha. That's what I keep telling myself. They're called Manana-tinis. I look forward to your posts on how to remove pimentos from your spa filter ... oh that's right, the dishwasher on rinse! Oh I forgot to ask are you using straight powder soap in there or the spot removing packets? Seriously... I read about cleaning them with dishwasher powder (plain old Cascade). Oh and be careful of not splashing spa water into your drink...9/10 vodka 1/10 spa water is not a dirty martini.. thats a Nastini The Thermospa box? ...makin' one! TinyBubbles
Nastini...............humph! I will just have to assume you are having a bad day. Duh, I buy olives without pits. I soaked my filter in diluted bleach and then rinsed in the washer, but yes, use the plain old stuff. Make sure there is no jet-dry in it. I retract my foo foo drink statement, as long as it's called a manana-tini. I had assumed you had simply had too many and couldn't type. Have you tried the stirring mixes? They make great pomegrante, blueberry, apple, etc. martinis.

They make great pomegrante, blueberry, apple, etc. martinis. The Stirring mixers are all great, they even have a very strong tiny ginger ale which is a little overpriced but top notch... she likes the little girlie sized (6 oz?) bottles. Yeah we had a little run of watermelon-tinis over the summer, with watermelon vodka and Stirrings watermelon, and sugar-free lemon-ade. See? I just add -tini to the end and it's a Martini (to me) Hhaha for me anything in a martini glass passes for a martini in the hut tub. Your mention of acrylic drinking glasses should also get repeated... best to keep glass away from the spa, especially when they're filled with "frosty beverages" That's an entire different thread "How do I get broken glass out of my spa?" "...with an ounce of prevention" I would answer. Seriously tho... Mañana-tinis are very very refreshing when you're getting all dehydrated in your spa ...very therapeutic even without the vodka. For all we have tried, we have somewhat fixated. Instead of buying expensive Mango extractions you can simply buy the cans of Mango juice in the Spanish foods aisle, that leaves more money to waste on overpriced ginger beer to add! ...I won't even start the Potato Vodka vs. thread wrong forum! TinyBubbles
Is it made from wheat? I've never heard of it, but I have to keep an eye out now. The Vanilla, cocoa bean thing kinda worries me, I don't think that would mix well with olive juice. But, I'll leave it in the running for the flavored foo-foo tinis, ala bodarc. RickJ
Shakers has both a wheat and a rye vodka. I've only had the wheat myself. It's outstanding. Unfortunatley, it's not available everywhere. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend trying it. Grey Goose is good, but it has a lot of marketing hype behind it. (see the results of the taste test in this article http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Story?id=3201973&page=1 ) I prefer the Shakers brand over the goose. Shakers is a lot smoother IMO. You guys are killing me! Wow thanks for the link to Shakers, so the guys who brought us Pete's Wicked Ale took all their cash and went out to make the best American vodka? ...and succeeded?! Great story... Man I'm getting thirsty {smack} Me? Appears I like French women... well one half French woman in particular. Minnesota? When you're snowbound for 3 months out of the year there's likely not much else to do, eyh?
biggz
Since the focus is currently on drinking, is there any accessory that would make things easier like additional drink holders if you have them already or holders in general? What type would you consider?
TinyBubbles
Between the cupholders built in and the large lip around the spa (I'm sure that's not the correct term), we have plenty of room for cups. If I needed anything additional, I like the tables they sell online at Sam's or Costco that go next to the spa. I've seen people with real wood cabinets have a similiar shelf built into the side of their spa. They look really handy. Our spa has a "spa within a spa" which is a goofy name for spaces for water to go, so that water doesn't spill over the sides of the tub, with alot of people in it. We've found that's a great space to set a tupperware container with scooby snacks in it.
B0Darc
A smart manufacturer would make a box about 4 feet long but only about 11 inches wide and about 30 inches high (several inches of ground clearance with drainage and no bugs). The inside would be two compartments, walls would be covered with insulated mylar pad. One side hot and one cold by intent, but design could be identical (just insulated). In the hot side you could have a heated towel bar that could slide up and down (for loading & unloading) The cold side could be for drinks (cooler). That could pop up too with a spice rack kind of design to create a mini-bar spa-side. The top would be plastic/waterproof with molded in cup holders. You could make it to either fold out or in and when open and folded inwards the underside of the lid would also have molded cup holder cutouts... please send me my free one. RickJ
Went looking for drink holders, and look what I found. http://www.rhtubs.com/store/spa-umbrella.htm This looks like an interesting idea, if you have enough room. http://www.rhtubs.com/store/spa-table.htm I usually just set my drinks on the lip of the tub. There's plenty of space there. Plus, on top of my filter area, there's space for drinks and snacks. I wouldn't mind a floating cup holder though. http://www.toysplash.com/productinfo.aspx?...p;engine=become http://www.aquasuperstore.com/products/Sna...older~3557.html
