  1. so I bought this used spa, supposedly new “floor model” from an independent seller not dealer. Electrician hooked it up initially with 50 amp breaker. It was working well for about four or five days when suddenly it would trip the GFCI breaker for no apparent reason. He also had a funky 50 amp fuse box as a disconnect. But the spa was working , yet tripping breaker, 2 to 3 times a day. Then the frequency of the tripped breaker started occurring more frequently. He changed the service breaker and GFCI disconnect to 60 amps but did not change the DIP switch settings from 50A to 60A before powering up. This is the error I got immediately. “Open flow switch” error. I immediately turned off power and corrected DIP switch setting to 60A but still same error. No flow hardly from fountain/circ pump. And all other jets/pumps and lights do not work other than the panel LCD display. It is not tripping breaker but just wont run. I did not refill it as it was already filled before and working when the 50A was in. I have removed the filter and still no power to jets. Help!! Did I fry the main board??? Or is the electric wiring wrong by the electrician??
  2. I have a spa that overflows into my pool. I noticed the jets suddenly were not pushing out much water, then my blower was not working. I replaced the blower, the new blower kept overheating. We narrowed it down to having some sort of blockage. We had rotorooter try and clear the line (way overpriced) then we used a gas pump and pulled the water back from the spa, hoping to dislodge anything, there was a small piece of plastic that came out. Then we pumped through the jets in hopes to push anything out. STILL, the blower is overheating and the jets seem very weak without the blower. ALSO the overflow into the pool is weak. I would think this means there is still something clogging behind the jets?? Is there a way to unscrew the jets? If so what tool? I have attached a picture of one of the jets. I think my next step would be to unscrew jets, if that dosn't work, drill a hole in the blower pipe to decrease back pressure but I would prefer to fix this right. I am just scare of breaking the plastic and creating more issues.
  3. i have a HAYWARD sp1515-z-1-esc it is 1.5 HP . its been a daunting task to attempt to repair this pump. it wasnt turning at all. so i decided to take it apart . i was able to do that but couldnt without first breaking the four thru bolts. well i did remove the armature it was really corroded .. so after cleaning everything up,and putting it all back together. I now have a free turning armature. unfortunately i have to plug in the pump and give it a quick turn with a srewdriver for it to start turning. But here is the problem it only turns for about 5 to 7 seconds before it starts smoking. i am not sure if its the plate that has the switch thats giving me the problem. if it is i cant find anywhere that has any parts for this OLD pump.
