  1. I have a Balboa EL2001 Mach 2 circuit board and ML700 topside panel with aux top panel. I am trying to pinpoint if I have an issue with the topside panel or the circuit board. The board was replaces under 2 years ago. The top panel acts like everything works, icons change like it is working, but nothing actually turns on. None of the 3 motors and not even the spa water light. All the fuses are good and I don't see any visible damage on the board. I would love to be able to unplug both top panels and test if I can get the circuit board to turn anything on. Is that possible?
  2. Hey guys, looking for some technical support. I'm retrofitting a new S-class Gecko spa pack to my 2001 Gulf Coast spa. Once installed, the display screen backlight turns on, but the display does not show anything. Further, the buttons on the panel do not control the indicated items. For example, hitting a button such as the light button turns the blower motor on. Hitting the arrow down button turns pump 1 on. None of the functions are correct. So, I tried a brand new panel, same issue. I have tried changing the jumper position with no change. The display continues to not work. So, I tried to replace the brand new S-class Gecko spa pack with another one, same issue persists. The old control pack is no longer available. Here are my tub specs: 240v - line 1, neutral, ground, line2 2 pumps Blower Ozone Does another have a clue as to what could be going on? I'm desperate for some help!
  3. Hey Guys and Gals, I'm really hoping someone here can help me as I'm at a total loss... I recently moved into a new rental home and there is a nice 2006 Spa Coleman Hot Tub outback. It looks brand new. The owner of the property indicated it wasn't working but he would spend up to 200 on parts if I did the work to which I agreed to see if we can get it going. So first off it hasn't ran in about a year. The water in the tub is stone cold maybe 40 some degrees. When you power on the breaker the tub goes through what appears to be a self check and flashes 100 then 21 then 114 then 240 and then goes direct to an OHH (Overheat Code). I have verified DIP Switch 3 is on and all others are off as shown on the panel diagram. My immediate thought was one of the M7 sensors on the inline Balboa heater were bad. After pricing the 2 sensors I decided to just replace the entire heater with both sensors. The new heater cam today and I installed with both new M7 sensors it just fine with no issues and sure enough it still loads to the OHH screen. I am completely locked out of the panel all it will display is OHH and there is no function. Here are a few more factors that may help someone with more knowledge than me come to a conclusion... 1.) I can't find a rest button anywhere other than the GFCI Reset on the breaker panel. I have looked on the board and all along the power in cord. Am I Missing Something? 1A.) I have hosed out the filter. 2.) When I leave the power to the tub even though the OHH remains on the tub does go into its standard cycle and powers on jets to circulate water every 15 minutes. 3.) If I switch on DIP Switch 10 I get message CFE then A10. Which I understand is a programing mode for the factory and not supposed to be used by the end user. I didn't mess with it to screw up programing but did this to verify the board is in fact communicating with the topside panel. In my logic this says the board is working at least somewhat. 4.) Could it be the sensor inside the tub? That will be a bear to change the way its on the tub so I'm hoping to stay away from that if it's not the likely culprit. At the end of the day it's not my hot tub but I have a 2 year lease here and am willing to spend a few bucks to get it going. The one local spa place here charges 200 just to come out and have a look and then 150 per hour which I can't afford for just a diagnostic! Please help! I'd love to hear if you've ever experienced this or something similar and what the fix was. Happy New Year Everyone! Justin

    Natural

Has anyone heard of Natural Whirlpool Spas & Baths. I've got a spa that has model # NS5001 and its fiberglass
  5. Greetings. I have Sundance Majesta that needs a replacement pump. The rubber mounts have torn and need replaced. They are just like these, which I've purchased 4 replacements as well. The threaded metal "bolt" isn't one piece. There is a top and bottom "bolt" with the thick rubber bushing between them. But, I can't seem to get the 4 old "stems" out of the wood floor (the rubber bushing and top bolt have broken off and been removed). Any suggestions on how to remove these old stems? Can't get enough "bite" from channel locks. I assume they just unscrew from another threaded metal piece pressed into the bottom of the flooring hole (or something like that). Or, can I cut a new piece of pressed board to put over the old area, screw it to the floor and mount the pump on that? Looking for advice. Thanks!

    Best Inflatable Spa (hot tub)

I am really wanting an inflatable hot tub, but am reading a lot of terrifying things. Most reviews are great, but I’m seeing a lot of reviews saying different ones fall apart after a year. I do not want to pay the extra money right now for a fiberglass hot tub. So is there any brand of portable spa that will last me a few years without problem? Or are they all garbage, that will die after one year? Thank you! regards, Ash
  7. Hi -- we're in the middle of purchasing a hot tub, and are considering the Mystique from Vita Spa ('mystique' on https://vitaspa.com/hot-tubs/). We're a little bit lost trying to find reliable or reputable information about it -- there are very few reviews, and it's hard to get a sense of which of the stats actually matter. The main draw for us on this tub over others we've looked at (from Bullfrog, dimension one, and hot springs) is the size -- it's a little bigger and should fit a few more people Has anyone had any experience with the mystique, or with Vita Spas in general? Are there any things you wish you knew? Thank you for your help!

    Broken Filter

Hello everyone! I recently moved into a new house and didn’t receive any information about the spa here. We are draining it and trying to clean it but the filter seems to be broken. I’m not sure if there’s a part I can buy to fix it or an easy way to hack it?

  10. The heater lights from what I can tell, then hot air starts coming out of the vent, then it gets going harder and even more air blows out of the vent (warm air), and then it eventually stops and the service light comes on. Anything I can do to resolve this?
  11. I have a 2003 Sundance Sweetware Palmero hot tub which was working fine for years. I didn't run it for a year and then when I turned it back on it would trip the power breaker when the heater would click on. I checked around and everyone said it was a bad heater so I bought a new heater and installed it. No change. I then heard people say that it was my circuit board with a bad lead. I bought a new circuit board and installed it, NO CHANGE. I know the power is good because when I don't have the heater connected on the board the jets run fine. Gotta say this has me stumped! All help would be appreciated. Thanks
  12. Are there any reputable hot tub companies that sell spa over-runs, truly discounted, or used hot tubs in the North West part of Florida? My 10 year old hot tub finally passed on to the "hot tub heaven in the sky", and I'm having trouble wanting to spend $12,000+ on a new one. NOTE: I'm 6' 2" so almost no hut tub has deep enough seats for me. The only one I"ve found so far is the lounge seat only (not the other seats) in Caldera Spas's Geneva hot tub. I'm interested in the Bullfrog Spa line due to the swappable jets, but have only sat in one hot tub, and of course the seat height was to low. So my two questions are: Reasonable driving distance to look at deeply discounted hot tubs that are at least 89" X89" (seat at least 6-8) (Drive time from my area of Florida to Tallahassee is; 3 hours, Mobile, AL; 1 hour, Birmingham, AL; 4 hours, Gulfport, MS; 2 hours Bullfrog Spas; Reviews only from actual users. Swim Spa Covers DIY

Has anyone ever made their own cover? I'm thinking about using some double stacked 2" foam and luan, wrapped in a UV coated Vinyl. All the websites I've seen are outrageously priced, and I can't seem to find anyone in Louisville KY under $1000. Any good sites for this sort of thing? Any help is appreciated
  15. Hi there! We recently bought a house that came with a 14-year-old Tiger River Spa Bengal that appeared to be in excellent condition. It was set to 97 and the system panel showed "READY". And putting my hand in the water, the water did feel heated. I never had a hot tub before so I went to a local Hot Springs Spas dealer and they gave me a great run down of what I had to do. First step was draining and refilling. I shut down the power and drained it and removed the filter etc. I refilled the tub through the filter compartment. Once that was done, I put the filter back in and fired up the power. Control panel, jets, light came on fine but the heater didn't seem to kick in. The water remained at 78 even after hours of waiting. So I start googling. I tried removing the filter. I rebooted a few times. I removed the panelling and checked under the hood. There was a "Heater Reset Switch". I punched it and I did feel a click. I thought I figured it out but alas, the heater still wouldn't kick in. The switch didn't trip, though. I'm unable to reset it again at this point. Anyway, I opened up the box containing the board. Something called a "D9" is blinking RED. A "D10" is solid green. "LIM OK" is solid green. And "HTR ON" is solid red. I kinda assume that that guy means "heater on" and should be solid green... I took some photos: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0gGVfZ2vG3CaDy I have a service guy come on Tuesday, but I'd love to fix it myself and cancel the appointment. The question is, can I fix it myself or does this require some advanced skills. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
  16. The other day my hot tubs hush pump return split nut collar had broken which caused a water like explosion due to the pressure; after that had happened my hot tub shut off right away. Once the new part was installed I went to flip the breaker for the hot tub only to notice right after flipping it, it trips again. I had gone to the hot tub management system and unplugged the pumps one by one to find that it did not trip with hush pump disconnected, now the hush pump was fine and working up until this point, also which nothing had happened to it other than the split nut break. Model number is 750E
  17. I have my chemistry done just right, I run a brand new bromine tub.. is it normal to always have a small amount of bubbles and tiny brown/white bubble scum like floating around during your hot tub usage? Perhaps if anything my bromine is a little high at times still learning how to manage that... filter is new, cleaned every week minimum, I shock after usage.. non chlorine shock,, total hardness is good, ph and alkalinity is good... ideal... even tested from local shop weekly. I'm in it daily for 2 hours, plus sometimes for 40 minutes with my 2 year old and 4 year old... my wife and I go it it every night for at least 45 minutes.. I was hoping to have friends in it this weekend for my party, I just want to ensure I have a nice clean tub and safe tub for my guests. I just the dazzel spa products line for all my chem.. my tub us 215 gallons, Freeflow Spa, Cascina Hot Tub 4 person. Maybe I will jump in it now and try to take some pictures.. show you what I'm referring too. Ok see images here https://goo.gl/photos/27XJzLbrHigvyGLr5
  18. Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here so please forgive my lack of knowledge. We recently got a hot tub and I'm wondering about a shock product that I keep seeing in a local retailer. It's called Clorox Pool&Spa Shock Xtra Blue 6-1. I am wondering if this is ok to use in a hot tub? The bottle says pool&spa, but since there are no direction for spa use.. I'm a tad confused. I looked up a material safety data sheet googled the main chemicals. It seems all the chemicals individually are found at similar percentages in other Spa Specific Products. I tried emailing Clorox and they never replied back. Does anyone use this or know if it's ok to use in a hot tub? Thanking y'all in advance. Trampas
  19. OK, please read carefully because the obvious response to this question cannot be right: My 10-year-old Tiger River Bengal spa has begun gurgling loudly. I hear the gurgles as bubbles traveling through the tubing. They can be heard all over the tub; there's no clear location for them. Bubbles coming from the ozonator are large. When I block the venturi with my finger, the gurgling stops in a few seconds. This means that air is NOT entering the system from somewhere else in the tub. So you would think the problem must lie with the ozonator, the check valve, or the flow restrictor - but read on. The strange thing is that when I flush, drain, and clean the tub, the gurgling goes away completely. Bubbles from the ozonator look like they should: tiny bubbles, lots of them, like champagne or soda fizz. The tub will then work normally for a day or two, even three or four days — but then the gurgling slowly comes back, getting louder and louder, and the bubbles get bigger and bigger. I've done this four times now with the same result each time. I thought the problem was too much airflow, because this problem began when I pulled the flow restrictor out of my Hot Springs ozonator, not realizing that I wouldn't be able to replace it. First I bought a new ozonator (a JED 103 CD Spa / Hot Tub Ozone Generator), but that did nothing. So I installed a flow restrictor between the ozonator and the check valve. (The JED 103's parts are sealed, so I can't tell if there's already a flow restrictor at the ozonator's own air intake.) I also replaced all the tubing and the check valve. The flow restrictor definitely reduces the gurgling. But it doesn't stop it, and while the ozone bubbles aren't huge, they also don't look like the gentle fizz that seems normal. The weird behavior - after cleaning it works normally with no gurgling, even without a flow restrictor in place, but then slowly begins to gurgle again - suggests to me that maybe the problem is not in the ozonator at all. Could it be a clog in the plumbing somewhere? I'm imaging a partial blockage with air building up behind it, then bubbling through in large bursts - or something like that. How can I figure this out?
  20. Ph high. I always have a problem with it. TA, Calcium, Bromine all within normal ranges. What is going on and what can I do about the pH? Thanks to anyone who can answer this. Even more thanks to anyone who can make it simple enough that an idiot like me can understand it.
  21. Hi, I am looking for the best spa services provider in New Mexico. Do you have any idea about the places where we can get day spa? I am looking for: "Hot Stone Back Facial" "Microdermabrasion" "Hydrating Facial" Lets discuss about this if you have any idea where to get these services in New Mexico and how they are helpful?

    Nordic Sport Hot Tub

hello, I have a Nordic Sport hot tub. I believe 2002. The control panel will go dim and when it does the only button that will work is the Temp Up button and it is what will turn the jets off and on. When it is normal lit the correct buttons do the correct functions. So you can't control the temp or light when it is dim. If the power goes out or your reset the power box it resets the temp back to 95. I also have noticed it is getting stuck on low jets and not turning off after the 20 minutes of circulation. Any thoughts on how to correct these problems. Thank you.
  23. So i have an in ground spa, it sits in the deck area. I havnt used it for about 6 years, so i went and got a new pump, re-did the PVC and everything worked. But the heating did not. Im using a gas heater and when i turn it on only the pilot turns on, it makes no noise and the main burners dont seem to turn on, i dont actually know how to use the heater properly so maybe im doing somethinf wrong? The flow into the heater is really strong so i know thats not an issue. I put pictures below of the heater if anyone can help me please. P.S. the pump and heater light are on (orange) http://pasteboard.co/GVauPFkrq.jpg http://pasteboard.co/GVdmg02rI.jpg http://pasteboard.co/GVgHIsOMs.jpg
  24. Im trying to settle and argument between my father in law and I. The previous owners left a fairly new "used" 6 person in-ground hot tub uninstalled near the pool. I wanted to get rid of it but my father in law thinks that we can just build an above ground "shell" for it and incorporate the piping into the in-ground pool system. Im fairly certain this CANT be done. I once read that there was a difference in how the in and above ground hot tubs were made. Am I correct? Is it possible to build an above ground frame to house it? Or can In-ground hot tubs ONLY be installed in-ground for water displacement reasons? Please educate us! Thanks in advance!
  25. Hello, I'm a fairly new hot-tub owner, and have found tons of valuable resources on this forum. Now that I have a slightly complicated question, this was quickly my first-choice to seek guidance My tub is 425 gallons (Alps Spas Q-90), last cleaned and refilled on 1/22/17 (sodium bromide + floater + MPS), consistently tested with a Taylor K-2106 kit, and set to 102F. Problem is my measurements today have me really scratching my head. TA dropped, and my CH plummeted. I've been busy so the tub's only seeing 1 or 2 bather-hours a week lately. Here's the last few measurement entries in my logbook: 2/11/17: pH=7.3, TA=120, CH=100, SI=-0.3, TB=0.5 2/12/17: pH=7.6, TA=130, CH=100, SI=0.1, TB=5 2/16/17: pH=7.6, TA=130, CH=90, SI=0.1, TB=4.5 2/20/17: pH=7.4, TA=90, CH=40, SI=-0.7, TB=5 Should I be worried that CH and TA tanked? I know bromine is acidic, which can lower pH and TA over time, but I've never seen my calcium dive like that. Also, I did add Leisure Time "pH Balance" during this last refill, which says "Note: due to the unique buffering capacity of Leisure Time pH Balance, it is not necessary to adjust the calcium hardness level in your spa". Was that a mistake? Could it be interfering somehow? Thanks in advance!
